Today, Tokyo Ghuol Teaches you the color.

• Red = 赤色 = あかいろ = (a ka i ro)
• White = 白色 = しろいろ = (shi ro i ro)

Two-color is important in Tokyo Ghoul.
あか used for the meaning of Rize. Kaneki was white, but he is going be red when he accepts Rize.

• blue = 青色 = あおいろ = (a o i ro)
• yellow = 黄色 = きいろ = (ki i ro)
• green = 緑色 = みどりいろ = (mi do ri i ro)

You can memorize this one if you are a lady.
You can’t take off “ね”. The words help sounds soft.
If you are a guy, you don’t need to say “ね”。
you can say it but sounds like a lady haha.

• 男？女？右？左？ = おとこ？おんな？みぎ？ひだり？
  (o to ko? o nn na? mi gi? hi da ri?)
  →The men? The women? The right one? The left one?

You can hear many words at one time.
How many can you hear it?

SFromA Level 3

• 言いつけを守って生きてるの？
  いいつけをまもっていきているの？
  (i i tu ke wo ma mo tte i ki te i ru no?)
  → You obeyed what she told you to do.

きいろ is connection words, so just check it out.
These words are important for understanding this sentence.

• いいつけ = what she told you.
• まもる = obey,
  If you confused, you studied a lot. Good job!
  まもる means protect too.
  But this situation, subtitle says “obeys.”
• Obey = 従う = したがう
  is perfect Japanese to obey.

This is last part, so I give you two nice one.

If you use this one, the situation is specific.
The situation is one guy controls the meeting or conversation, and this guy finishes the talk, then, he uses this word.

• お前はいいやつだ。= おまえはいいやつだ。 = (o ma e ha i i ya tu da.)
  → You’re a good guy.

The sentence used by Banjo.
おまえ(o ma e) is not a good Japanese word… Sounds like the upper guy.
You don’t need to say おまえ, so “いいやつ” is fine!!

SFromA Level 3

• 俺を失望させないでくれよ。
  おれをしつぼうさせないでくれよ。
  (o re wo shi tu bo u sa se na i de ku re yo.)
  → do not disappoint me.

Japanese change to different styles and changing the meaning.
It can learn later… Now, you need to know a lot of words!!

• 守る = まもる = (ma mo ru)
  → protect
• 死ぬ = しぬ = (shi nu)
  → die
• わかる = (wa ka ru)
  → understand
• 奪う = うばう = (u ba u)
  → stole

• これはどう？ = (ko re ha do u?)
  → How do you like this? Or, How about this?

• ここにはいないです。= (ko ko ni ha i na i nn de su)
  → She isn’t here anymore.

The sentence used by Kaneki to Banjo.
Kaneki talked about Rize, so the subtitle shows she, but the Japanese sentence does not have exact point of SHE.
It means you use anytime when you want to say “One isn’t here anymore.”

• マルは使えるものはなんでも使うからな
  まるはつかえるものはなんでもつかうからな
  (ma ru ha tu ka e ru mo no ha na nn de mo tu ka u ka ra na)
  → Maru will use whatever he can use.

If you turn down the last word sound, it means to ignore
If you turn up the last word sound, it means insects.

However, depends on the situation!!!!!

• 少しずつ = すこしずつ = (su ko shi zu tu)
  → little by little

Today’s level is that I teach you which guy is good for study Japanese in Tokyo Ghoul.

1. 金木研 = Kaneki Ken
2. ヒデ = Hideyoshi nagachika
3. 店長 = Yoshimura

These are super good Japanese speaker. They do not use bad words, and slow speaker, so it is good for study.

On the other hand, some guys are difficult to understand if you are not Japanese.

1. とうかちゃん = Touka Kiraishima
2. にしき = Nishio Nishiki
3. つきやま = Shuu Tukiyama

Touka and Nishiki used a lot of bad words. It is not good to study Japanese. If you can understand most Japanese, you can study from these guys. You can understand deeper.

SFromA Level 2

• どうでもいい = (do u de mo i i)
  → I don’t care

The sentence used by Hinami.
Could you find it??
Level 2 is you can memorize, and you can use it.

• 何を言っている？ = なにをゆっている？ = (na ni wo yu tte i ru?)
  → what are you talking about?

Amon used this sentence to Kaneki.
He speaks slow, so try to find it without subtitle!

• この世界は間違っている = このせかいはまちがっている。
  (ko no se ka i ha ma ti ga tte i ru.)
  → This whole world is messed up.

まちがっている = wrong, messed up.

Today’s level one is words that you should understand, and it will be helping more fun Tokyo Ghoul.

• 命 = いのち = (i no chi)
  → Life, alive,
• コーヒー = こーひー = (ko- hi-)
  → coffee

Pronunciation for コーヒー is not the same as English.
Japanese pronunciation of coffee used many times in Tokyo Ghoul. Try to find it!!!

• 血 = ち = (chi)
  → blood.
• 痛い = いたい = (i ta i)
  → hart or dead body

達磨

It is an interesting point.
いたい has two means.
If you turn down the last word sounds “い(i)”, it means dead body.
if you turn up the last word sounds “い(i)”, it means hart.
But, actually, depends on the situation haha. When you heard many times いたい in anime, you will be able to understand which いたい.

SFromA Level 2

• 気をつけなさいよ = きをつけなさいよ = (ki wo tu ke na sa i yo)
  → watch out!

When Hinami runs away on a rainy day because her mom is dangerous, then, she hit the human. The human, who is a lady, said this sentence.
If you use you don’t need to say last word “よ”
Thus, you can memorize “きをつけなさい” = (ki wo tu ke na sa i)

• 何かあったんですか？ = なにかあったんですか？ = (na ni ka a tta nn de su ka?)
  → has something happened?

Kaneki and Hinami came back to Antique, and Touka asked the worker.
This is a very clear sentence. You can memorize this one, and you can use it.

SFromA Level 3

• みんなの安全のためにはそれが最善なんだよ
  みんなのあんぜんのためにはそれがさいぜんなんだよ
  (mi nn na no a nn ze no ta me ni ha so re ga sa i ze nn na nn da yo)
  → That is the best course, for the sake of everyone’s safety.

Yellow highlight is conecction words. Again, it is hard, so you need to know many kinds of connection words.
These are subjects and important words for understanding the sentence.

• みんな = (mi nn na) = everyone
• 安全 = あんぜん = (A nn ze nn) = safety
• ~~のため = (~~no ta me) = for the sake
• 最善 = さいぜん = (sa i ze nn) = best course

きっと店長はいろんなことが見えていて
きっと-てんちょうは-いろんなことが-みえていて

What’s up learner! This is ch6 of Tokyo Ghoul. Are you ready to study Japanese?

SFromA Level 1

• やるな = (ya ru na)
  → not bad,

These words used by Takiyama-san to Touka-chan.
やるな has two meanings. In Tokyo Ghoul at the moment, the meaning is not bad.
But you can use “stop” too. Same pronounce, but different meaning so depends on the situation.

• 待ってろ = まってろ = (ma tte ro)
  → hold on

These words used by Nishiki-senpai.
If you say まってる=(ma tte ru), it means going to be you are waiting.
It is interesting … Just one word, but you can talk about different situations.

SFromA level 2

• 何だよそれ = なんだよそれ = (na nn da yo so re)
  → what does that mean?

The sentence used by Touka-chan on the roof.
You can memorize exactly the same sentence and you can use it.

• 細かいこと言うなって、= こまかいこというなって、= (ko ma ka i ko to i u na tte,)
  → Don’t mention the little things.

Kaneki mentioned Hide that he stayed Anteiqu before opening, and Hide said this sentence.
Level 2 is you need to just memorize.
You can listen to many times you can do. When you heard こまかいこというなって in another anime and you understand, it is a goal!!!

SFromA Level 3

• ひなみちゃんは何を怒って
  ひなみちゃんはなにをおこって
  (Hinami-chan ha na ni wo o ko tte)
  → What is Honami upset about?

Yellow highlight is connection words, so you can separate the sentence there.
Hinami-chan, ha, nani, wo, okotte?
〜〜〜〜は~~~~
This is super basic conecction words.
another example is this one.

• Ale is 20 years old.
  アレは20さいだ = (Ale ha 20 sa i da)
• This is a pen.
  これはぺんです。= (ko re ha pe nn de su)

I did not explain about Japanese people’s name. Like Mr, or Miss.
In most situations, you can use “—さん”(—sa nn). If you use さん after name every time, You never going into trouble!
You can use “—ちゃん” to the younger lady basically.
Some upper guys used to under people when they try to be a closer relationship. If you are under guy, you must not use “ちゃん”！！You use “さん”
The last one is “—くん”, It uses for younger boys basically.
In Japanese high school, if you were freshman, you should call sophomore “—くん” or “—さん”
—くん is not bad to call closer friends who are older than you.
YOU CAN’T USE TO LADY “くん”！！！！

(Hinami, ni ge te.)

• ばれやしないって = (ba re ya shi na i tte)
  → No one will find out.

The sentence used by Nishik’s sister.
This sentence’s form is for conversation.
ばれない = (ba re na i) means nobody can’t find. (60%).
If you want to say nobody can find (100%), you should say
ぜったいばれない(ze tta i ba re na i).

SFromA Level 2

• 何しにきたの？ = なにしにきたの？ ＝ (na ni shi ni ki ta no?)
  → What are you here for?

You can memorize this one, and you can use it.
This sentence used by Touka-chan to Kaneki.
Kaneki going to her room てぶら。

• 食べ過ぎ。＝ たべすぎ ＝ (ta be su gi)
  → eating too much

達磨

This sentence used by Touka-chan when she eats too much of her friends’ food.
It is an interesting point.
If you say たべすぎた(ta be su gi ta), it means I eating too much.
If you want to tell someone who eats too much, You can say たべすぎだよ(ta be su gi da yo)。

SFromA Level 3

どうしたらにしき君を助けてあげられるの？
= どうしたらにしきくんをたすけてあげられるの？
= (do u shi ta ra ni shi ki ku nn wo ta su ke te a ge ra re ru no?)
→ what can I do to help Nishiki?

It looks long.. But you can separate to think about it.
1, どうしたら(do u shi ta ra)= how do I? What I can do?
2, たすける(ta su ke ru)= help you.
Again, it is an interesting point. Just little be change, and the sentence meaning is super different.
たすける(ta su ke ru)＝I help you
たすけたい(ta su ke ta i) = I want to help you
たすけて(ta su ke te)= help me

(ni shi ki ku nn)
Nishiki…
