First, Norman said that “to discover the truth about this house”
- discover = 明かす = あかす = (a ka su)
In Japanese has many kind of discover.
it is just for your knowledge!
- あかす = (a ka su)
- 発見する = はっけんする = (ha kke nn su ru)
- 見つける = みつける = (mi tu ke ru)
Second, it is same sentence above one.
- house = 家 = いえ = (i e)
Here is another you should know it.
- apartment = アパート = あぱーと = (a pa – to)
In Japan, many people live in mansion. WTF… Hold on..
Many Japanese says “I live in mansion”, but this mansion means apartment!!!!
If you want to say mansion, you can say ごうてい (go u te i)
SFromA Level 2
Level 2 is a long sentence. Today, Norman teaches you some Japanese words at one time.
This time, you don’t need to think about connection words.
Level 2, first, Norman said
- It was my supposition for the worst case.
→ 最悪の想定だったけどね
→ さいあくのそうていだったけどね。
→ (saikaku no soutei datta kedone)
- the worst case = さいあく = (saiaku)
- supposition = そうてい = (soutei)
- It was = 〜〜〜だった = (da tta)
or = 〜〜った (~~~tta)
This time, you try to understand “it was”
EX) it was nice. = きれいだった. (ki re i da tta)
EX) It was amazing = すごかった. (su go ka tta)

You need to study many times about connection words because it is difficult to teach Japanese connection words.
Japanese connection words are just one word or two words. But there are many kinds of connection words.
Level 3, first, Norman said
- You led us to discover the truth about this house for ourselves.
→ レイは僕らが、僕ら自身でHouseの真実にたどり着くよう仕向けた。
→ れいはぼくらが、ぼくらじしんではうすのしんじつにたどりつくようにしむけた。
→ (ray ha bokuraga, bokurajishinn de hausu no shinnjitu ni tadoritukuyouni shimuketa)
It is super basic Japanese connection it is “は” (ha), but pronounce is wa.
It is little be explanation.
The sentence talked about what Ray did.
Ray は ~~~~.
EX) Ray は cool = Ray is cool. = (Ray wa ka Ikko i i )
Second one, Norman said that
- She said we’re family that grew up together.
→ 一緒に育った家族だもんって。。
→ いっしょにそだったかぞくだもんって。。。
→ (issyo ni sodatta kazoku damonntte…)
This sentence has just one connection words.
いっしょに (issyoni) This に(ni) means “with”.
- family = 家族 = かぞく = (ka zo ku)
- grew up = 育った = そだった = (so da tta)
→ grow up = 育つ = そだつ = (so da tu)
